City2Surf will start with a bang with Australian pop-punk duo The Veronicas announced as the headline act.
The Veronicas shot to stardom through the release of their debut album The Secret Life Of… in 2005 and haven’t looked back. Their successes have ranged from No. 1 ARIA singles, six ARIA certifications across their three studio album releases and numerous Top 10 singles in the Australian and overseas music markets.

AUSTRALIAN ARMY ROCK BAND
The Australian Army Band Sydney is widely acknowledged as one of Australia’s most dynamic music ensembles. Its distinguished military lineage dates back to the 1800s, making it the second longest continuous serving military unit in Australia.
Since its inception, members of The Army Band have contributed to active service spanning most theatres of conflict within Australia’s military history. In recent times they have entertained coalition forces in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.
NSW POLICE ROCK BAND
Formed in 1895, the NSW Police Force proudly boasts the country’s oldest concert band. It is a full-time unit of the NSW Police Force comprising of 30 players.
The Band boasts great diversity and can provide musical support as a concert band, marching band, big band, rock band, jazz combo as well as wind and brass quintets. The Band & any of it's ensembles can be hired for your event.
FIRE & RESCUE BAND
The Band and Marching Team is based in Sydney, Australia. Mark Reay has been the Musical Director for the past 30 years and continues to ensure the standard of music and entertainment remains at a very high level.
The members are part-time volunteers who see the function of the group as an integral part of the Fire and Rescue NSW’s mission to provide public education on fire prevention and safety awareness to the community and to promote the Brigades as a world-class organisation.
INNER WEST COMMUNITY BAND
Inner West Community Band (IWCB) is a symphonic band that rehearses weekly in Stanmore.
Each year IWCB performs four themed concert programs in addition to regular Kids' Proms concerts and performances at community events. The band's repertoire features a range of musical styles from pop, jazz and movie themes to orchestral transcriptions and symphonic band repertoire.
IWCB always welcomes any woodwind, brass or percussion players and currently consists of a diverse membership of 40 adults ranging from music teachers to those just picking up their instrument again after many years.
PIPERS OF DISTINCTION
With over 35 years experience playing the bagpipes Barry Gray was the Pipe Major/Musical Director of New South Whales Premier (Grade 1) Pipe Band from 1985-2006. He has competed in competitions worldwide and attained NSW State Solo Championship status on many occasions as well as playing with the likes of John Farnham, Bryan Adams and Lionel Richie. His team of Pipers have Grade 1 exposure and offer a high standard of performance at any event.

Frieda’s Boss, a popular reggae, ska, dub outfit have endeared themselves to lovers of the linely rhythms of Jamaica’s dancehall scene, drum’n’bass and ska. Showcasing the most popular reggae releases featuring Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Danien Marley, UB40, Jacob Miller, FB have also produced a host of wicked original rhythm tracks and dub plates.

SALSA STREET PARTY
The Salsa Street Party will see LDA dance performers moving to the rhythms Sydney’s own Cuban sound outfit. They have been entertaining salseros & Latin music lovers at Australia’s renowned “The Cuban Place – in Sydney” over the past 3 years. Four nights a week they ply their trade to happy audiences. Considered to be the one of Australia's premiere ensembles, playing Son, Salsa, Cha cha cha, Bachata, Timba, Merengue, romantic Boleros & Latin Jazz.
MARY & THE FUNKERS
Mary Cowell has been performing around Sydney for a number of years at venues including Valve Bar, Tokio Hotel, The Four Seasons Hotel, The Opera House, Customs House and the Hilton Marble Bar - catering to bars, weddings, and private and corporate events. The Mary Cowell Band consists of some great young Sydney Jazz musicians, Sean Valenzuela on Keys, Rhyan Clapham on Drums, Gideon Traurig on Bass and Sam Weiss on sax.
Uke Junction started as a small band of Ukulele players busking at Bondi Junction Mall. The Band played at 2015 City to Surf and is excited to be playing again in 2016. Since last year the Band has evolved into a mixture of electric Ukes, Guitars, drums, Bass and harmonica.
The Band’s leader Larry Smith said, “We are excited about playing again! It is a great chance to play our brand of music (Stones, Dylan, Creedence Clearwater etc.) to the public and runners.”
The members of Uke Junction will be playing at Raveisis (Bondi Beach) for the Winter Busking Day in July.
Bateria 61 is Sydney's own Rio samba community group. It was formed by a group of friends who share a passion for samba, and the mission to bring the energy and sound of the famous Rio Carnival to the streets of our city.

UNSW WARRIORS CHEER SQUAD
The UNSW Warriors Cheerleading Society is a competitive cheer and dance team representing the University of New South Wales. Each year we compete locally and at National level, which often takes us to Melbourne or Brisbane. We have also competed at an international level; in 2013 our Dance teams had the honour of representing both UNSW and Australia at the World University Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida. We are currently raising money to support a team to go in January of 2016.
BRIDGE CITY JAZZ BAND
The Bridge City Jazz band has been a traditional jazz band for some 12 years, operating in a quartet format up to a seven piece jazz band. The quartet format consists of John Bates on trombone and vocals; Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone; Colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on plectrum banjo. As individuals they have played traditional jazz forever. Often with other bands in duo, trio, quartet up to a full 7-8 piece trad jazz band format. The band has had a residency at Club Ashfield in Sydney, considered now the home of Traditional Jazz every Friday evening for the last 12 years. An all acoustic band it is flexible playing in shopping malls, airports and of course the City2Surf.
ROBBERS DOGS JAZZ BAND
The Robbers Dogs, a name taken from an Australian colloquial expression, was formed as a trio by clarinetist Rod Lawlis in 1970. It became a quartet later that year and until the early 1980s, entertained audiences in Sydney's inner-city area at pub residencies in The Rocks, the CBD, Balmain and Camperdown and for picnics, harbour cruises, dances, parties, weddings, wakes, clubs, corporate events and jazz club functions. In March 1994 Rod reformed the group and with the addition of a singer it re-entered the Sydney scene with a weekly Rozelle pub job, a long residency at the Riverview Hotel in Balmain, miscellaneous gigs, festival and concert appearances. In February-April 1996 the band performed at the Fortune of War Hotel in The Rocks. It returned to the FOW in April 1997, alternating fortnightly with the Balmain pub job until September 1998 when it became a Sunday afternoon fixture, and was still entertaining the locals and passing tourists up until February 2014. When Rod Lawlis died in late 2000 Bill Haesler, a founder-member of original 1970 quartet, took over and appointed clarinettist Jack Wiard musical director. The group appeared at the Sydney Wine Cellar event in Hyde Park for several years and is a regular City2Surf performer.
Adam Harpaz is a multi- instrumentalist, indie folk musican who busks during the day, performs at venues during the night and surfs in between. In July 2015, Adam performed at Splendour in the Grass and has since played at festivals such as Newtown Festival and Australian Music Week 2015. As of 2016 Adam is working on his latest release and first full production set to drop in November.

BondiTony’s famous Burger Joint presents Benny and Lachy live on course. The boys have been bringing live music vibes to local venues in the eastern suburbs for the last six months. Think funk, blues, reggae, jazz. stir it up and simmer for a while. Add a pinch of stick and skin action with Greg Swanborough, everyones favourite drummer from The Spikes. These guys spice up a party like cinnamon to mulled wine.
