Many runners cite greater flexibility as the number one reason for beginning a yoga practice. At Brave, we believe we know there are many holistic benefits of yoga - it should form an integral part of a runner’s regime. Yoga stretches the muscles that are tight, which in turn increases the range of motion in related joints.
Our yin practice is comprised of seated or lying down postures and is a slower practice compared to vinyasa with emphasis on the tendons, ligaments and fascia of the hips, legs and lower back. We invite every runner to come and try our yin class – it will be the ultimate recharge ahead of the big day.
Kids Yoga (free)
Discover the benefits of yoga for kids and then learn to strike a pose with your child at our Kids Brave class. Our free and fun filled event will help children develop balance, strength and body awareness, nurture their imagination and creativity and learn compassion and cooperation.
The Kids Yoga session is open to ages 3-16 years on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. Adult supervision is required for kids under 12 years and a waiver will need to be completed/signed on the day in order for kids to participate.
In addition to the yoga sessions, there’ll be some fantastic food on offer including The Bearded Bakers and Three Blue Ducks.
There will be plenty of free fun and entertainment for the whole family, so if you’re picking up your City2Surf race bib from CITYFIT Expo, be sure to also drop by.
