City2Surf Official Training Runs provided by JORG
Join Jim Owens, experienced level 4 Athletics Australia Coach of beginners right through to elite, and his JORG Fitness team, as they train and prepare you for this year's City2Surf. As experienced runners, passionate about helping others improve their health and fitness, the JORG team will take you through lots of technique and training tips along the course of their structured program to help you get the best out of your City2Surf run this year. JORG have launched the Up And Running Training program series which has helped many runners all over Australia improve their performance and they look forward to sharing their knowledge and experience with you. The JORG team have also been instrumental in coaching Harry Summers, the current winner of the City2Surf for two consecutive years.

Orange Training Program 2018
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July City2Surf’s official training partner, Jorg Fitness, will be in Orange to host free training sessions for those preparing for the world’s largest fun run. City2Surf and Jorg Fitness have teamed up with the Orange Runners Club and Office of Sport to give locals and weekend road trip running enthusiasts the opportunity to get City2Surf ready ahead of the event, which is taking place in Sydney on Sunday 12th August.
Jim Owens, owner of Jorg Fitness, and experienced level 4 Athletics Australia Coach of beginners right through to elite, will join the Orange Runners Club to offer two distinct training sessions. On Saturday 28 a skills session will take place focusing on technique and form, followed by a training run on Sunday 29 where attendees will run on a mixture of bitumen and gravel surfaces with some nice inclines; offering locals the perfect training opportunities two weeks before the event itself.
|Saturday 28th July||3:00pm||Elephant Park||Free skills session that includes technique, drills, form etc - beyond the basics - full details coming soon. Elephant Park is located in town, and is relatively flat (along gravel tracks).|
|Sunday 29th July||9:00am||Gosling Creek||This training run will take place at Gosling Creek which is on the southern fringe of Orange. There is plenty of parking available along with toilet facilities (and great views of the Gosling Creek Dam and Mount Canobolas). A mix of bitumen and gravel surfaces and some nice inclines (nothing too strenuous). Jorg will provide a stretching session prior to the run and be there to offer advice etc. Click here to see course info such as route maps, elevation & images.|
