City2Surf To Hit The Streets of Sydney This August 2024

The world’s largest fun run will hit the streets of Sydney once again this August, with entries opening at 11am this morning for the 2024 City2Surf.

The City2Surf will welcome tens of thousands of runners to the iconic 14km course between the Sydney CBD and Bondi, with this year’s event to be held on Sunday 11 August.

Geoff Meyer, Managing Director of Oceania for The IRONMAN Group, organisers of the City2Surf, said the team was excited to welcome the event back to Sydney this August.

“The City2Surf is an iconic Sydney event, and we’re thrilled that we’ll have runners once again on course between Sydney’s CBD and Bondi Beach on Sunday 11 August,” said Meyer. “This is an event that is incredibly important to the people of Sydney and with over 50 years of history behind it we can’t wait to see our community embrace it once again.

“We’ve seen a surge in the popularity of running recently, with run clubs booming across Sydney and events selling out, it’s great to see so many people embracing running and the positive impact it can have on them,” he said. “The City2Surf holds a special place in the hearts of so many people in Sydney, it allows people to experience the best that Sydney has to offer and provides a great opportunity to come together and train for a common goal.

“The City2Surf also plays an important role for numerous charitable organisations, with City2Surf runners raising over $55 million for charities in need since 2008, with the event aiming to raise over $4 million this year,” said Meyer. “We were thrilled to have the City2Surf’s highest ever number of finishers last year and can’t wait to once again have a sea of runners, walkers, those in wheelchairs, families pushing prams and even dancers stretch from the CBD to Bondi in August.”
