The world’s largest fun run will return to the streets of Sydney on Sunday 13 August, with more than 70,000 runners already signed up to the 2023 event and entries selling quickly.
With just over two weeks left until more than 70,000 runners take to the world-famous 14km course between the CBD and Bondi Beach, those who haven’t signed up yet and are keen to take part are encouraged secure their place on the start line now to avoid missing out.
Martin Mashford, Regional Director for The IRONMAN Group Oceania, organisers of the City2Surf, is encouraging runners of all abilities to get involved in the iconic event.
“We’re thrilled to have ticked over the 70,000-runner mark and with more than two weeks remaining until the return of the City2Surf there’s still time for those who want to be involved to lock in their spot to avoid missing out on being a part of the 2023 event,” said Mashford. “The beauty of the City2Surf is that it’s open to people of all abilities, with people running, walking, pushing, rolling and even dancing their way from the CBD to Bondi Beach.
“Over the years the City2Surf has grown to be the largest fun run in the world, and we can’t wait to welcome runners back to the streets of Sydney in just over three weeks’ time,” he said. “The City2Surf has a great community atmosphere, with it bringing people from all walks of life together and is a great celebration of being active and all that is great about Sydney.
“The event also plays an important role for numerous charitable organisations, with City2Surf runners raising over $51 million for charities in need since 2008, with the event aiming to raise over $3.5 million this year,” said Mashford.
