Getting to the Start Line

With extensive road closures and limited parking the best way to get to and from City2Surf is by public transport.

Trains start running from as early as 4am, depending on the line, with services running every 10 to 15 minutes to the city. Catch a train to Town Hall, St James, Museum or Martin Place stations to get within walking distance of Hyde Park.

Light rail services run frequently to the city making stops at QVB and Town Hall within short walking distance of Hyde Park.

Buses run frequently to the city making stops along Elizabeth St and other major transport hubs including QVB within short walking distance. Additional early morning bus services will run on popular routes to the city to get you to the start line. Keep in mind that some buses will be diverting from their regular routes and using different stops while road closures are in place so make sure to plan ahead.

Limited early morning ferries will run so plan ahead and consider the alternative options including trains, buses and light rail instead.
