Volunteers

Our incredible volunteers play a critical role in ensuring the successful running of City2Surf. We have a variety of volunteer roles available and you can gain great event experience whilst having a lot of fun!

What kind of roles will volunteers be doing?
The various roles we are looking to fill include drink station volunteers, race bib collection volunteers, start and finish marshals. None of these roles are too laborious, but just require people willing to help out and have a good time.

Who can volunteer?
There are two different ways to volunteer for the City2Surf, either as part of a group or as an individual. Please read the below information to see which option suits you.

Community Group Volunteers
To volunteer as part of a group, you must be part of an existing community group or organisation. Groups that often volunteer for our events include Rotary clubs, Scout groups and running clubs. The only requirement is that you are able to provide us with your certificate of currency and volunteer insurance. NEW Group volunteer enquiries - please email our volunteer coordinator at gwyn.ogden@ironman.com so that we can allocate you a role together and send you a registration link specific to your group. Please note that there may be a waiting list for group volunteers.

Individual volunteers
Individual volunteers must be 18 years or over and are not volunteering as part of a community group as per above description. Individual roles are located at the Bib Collection, Baggage or Expo in the days leading up to the event, and in the start and finish areas on event day.
