2024 City2Surf Sells Out

The 2024 City2Surf has now officially sold out, with this year’s event to be the biggest ever with 90,000 runners registered to take part.

The world’s largest fun run will return to the streets of Sydney on Sunday 11 August, with the 2024 event set to be a record breaker, as a sea of runners make their way along the world famous 14km course between the CBD and Bondi Beach.

Tanya Carroll, City2Surf Regional Director, said that the team is thrilled to have the event sell out for 2024.

“The support from runners this year has been incredible, and with 90,000 signing up to take part in the 2024 City2Surf we are now officially sold out,” said Carroll. “Thanks to our event partners and stakeholders for their ongoing support of the event and we look forward to a record-breaking day on Sunday 11 August with 90,000 City2Surf entrants.

“It’s incredible to be able to put up the sold-out sign almost three weeks out from the event with the people of Sydney clearly in their running era,” she said. “The last time the event sold out was in 2019 at 85,000 runners, and we’re thrilled to have an additional 5,000 with us this year.

“The City2Surf holds a special place in the hearts of so many people in Sydney, it allows people to experience the best that Sydney has to offer and provides a great opportunity to come together and train for a common goal,” said Carroll. “The event also plays an important role for a number of charitable organisations, with City2Surf runners raising over $55 million for charities since 2008, and the event aiming to raise over $3.5 million this year, with the current 2024 total already over $1.5 million.

“One of the things we love about the City2Surf is that it’s open to people of all abilities, with people running, walking, pushing prams, using wheelchairs and even dancing their way from the CBD to Bondi Beach. We love the community atmosphere of this event, with it bringing people from all walks of life together and is a great celebration of being active,” she said.

Runners and their supporters can make donations to their chosen charity through the fundraising section of the City2Surf website.
