The world’s largest fun run will return to the streets of Sydney in just a month on Sunday 11 August, with the 2024 set to be the biggest ever.
Over 82,000 runners have already committed to being on the start line next month, with the 2024 event being capped at 90,000 and is expected to sell out in the coming weeks.
With just a month left until a record-breaking number of runners take to the world famous 14km course between the CBD and Bondi Beach, those who haven’t secured their place on the start line are encouraged to get in quickly before entries sell out.
Tanya Carroll, City2Surf Regional Director, said that the team is looking forward to holding the largest ever City2Surf.
“The support from runners this year has been incredible, with over 82,000 already committed to taking part in the 2024 City2Surf,” said Carroll. “Thanks to our event partners and stakeholders for their ongoing support of the event and we look forward to a record-breaking day on Sunday 11 August with 90,000 City2Surf entrants.
“One of the things we love about the City2Surf is that it’s open to people of all abilities, with people running, walking, pushing prams, using wheelchairs and even dancing their way from the CBD to Bondi Beach. We love the community atmosphere of this event, with it bringing people from all walks of life together and is a great celebration of being active,” she said. “Over the years the City2Surf has grown to be the biggest event of its kind and we can’t wait to see the sea of runners on the streets of Sydney next month.
“The City2Surf holds a special place in the hearts of so many people in Sydney, it allows people to experience the best that Sydney has to offer and provides a great opportunity to come together and train for a common goal,” said Carroll. “The event also plays an important role for a number of charitable organisations, with City2Surf runners raising over $55 million for charities in need since 2008, with the event aiming to raise over $3.5 million this year.”
Runners and their supporters can make donations to their chosen charity through the fundraising section of the City2Surf website.
